Fiji is one of the best places in the world to go island hopping. Fiji's hundreds of tropical islands in the South Pacific boast spectacular scenery, turquoise waters, traditional Fiji culture, pristine white beaches and vibrant coral marine life to explore. Especially the string of islands along the western shore of Viti Levu (mainland Fiji), called the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands, offer the very best of Fiji to travellers. With daily flights coming into Nadi international airport from New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and beyond, plus the close proximity of the airport to the ferry harbour, these islands have been made more accesible than ever!
How to Island Hop in Fiji
As Fiji has over 300 islands beckoning, it's hard to know where to start! But don't worry - most of what you're likely to be looking for can be found in two specific regions, located to the west of Fiji mainland and conveniently serviced by the international airport in Nadi and the nearby ferry port in Denarau: These are known as the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands and are made easily accesible with Awesome Adventures' fast ferry, the Yasawa flyer and their special Bula Pass island hopping ticket. Slightly closer to civilization, the Mamanuca islands are on the doorstep of Nadi and can be enjoyed by booking the South Sea Cruises ferry or visit popular Malolo Lailai with Malolo Cat.
